Discussion on Mining Industry Waste

The Ukrainian Bar Association and the NGO PRAGMA will hold a discussion on 16 September 2026 on the adaptation of Ukrainian legislation to the requirements of Directive 2006/21/EC on the management of waste from extractive industries.

The following issues are proposed for discussion:

• – key approaches to adapting Ukrainian legislation to the requirements of Directive 2006/21/EC;
• – the status of work on the draft Law of Ukraine “On Waste from Extractive Industries”;
• – key issues and challenges requiring further consideration;
• – proposals from stakeholders and further steps in the development of the draft law.

The discussion is expected to be attended by representatives of the Ministry of Economy and Environment of Ukraine, the Verkhovna Rada Committee on Environmental Policy and Nature Management, and the Government Office for Coordination of European and Euro-Atlantic Integration.
