Some details about the tariff increase for rail freight transportation

As previously reported (see the information in the News section as of December 10, 2024), the Supervisory Board of JSC Ukrzaliznytsia has approved a 37% increase in tariffs for rail freight transportation.

According to many media reports citing the management of JSC “Ukrzaliznytsia”, the new tariffs are to be introduced on February 1, 2025.

The Association reminds that in accordance with the Resolution of the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine dated December 16, 2009 No. 1392 “On Ensuring Transparency of the State Tariff Policy for the Transportation of Goods by Rail within Ukraine”, tariffs for the transportation of goods are subject to annual indexation before the beginning of the new fiscal year, and the Ministry of Transport and Communications (now the Ministry of Community and Territorial Development), the Ministry of Economy and the Ministry of Finance must ensure annual indexation of these tariffs.
