In 2024, Ukraine received 35 points out of 100 in the Corruption Perceptions Index (CPI), which is one point less than in 2023. In the global ranking compiled by Transparency International, the country ranked 105th out of 180 countries.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Last year, Ukraine was ranked 104th in the ranking, which means there has been no improvement.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The result of Corruption Perceptions Index 2024 is calculated based on 8 surveys covering the period from February 2021 to September 2024 inclusive.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
For the seventh year in a row, Denmark leads the ranking with a score of 90 points.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Finland and Singapore ranked second and third with 88 and 84 respectively. New Zealand, with 83 points, is outside the top three for the first time since 2012, but still in the top ten, along with Luxembourg (81), Norway (81), Switzerland (81), Sweden (80), the Netherlands (78), Australia (77), Iceland (77), and Ireland (77).<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Countries that are in conflict or have very limited freedoms and weak democratic institutions are at the bottom of the index. South Sudan (8), Somalia (9), and Venezuela (10) occupy the last three places. Syria (12), Equatorial Guinea (13), Eritrea (13), Libya (13), Yemen (13), Nicaragua (14), Sudan (15) and North Korea (15) round out the list of countries with the lowest scores.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Since 2012, 32 countries have significantly improved their scores in the index and are now considered to have lower levels of corruption. Over the same period, 47 countries have shown significant regression, including some high-scoring democracies such as the United States (65) and New Zealand (83), as well as autocratic states such as Russia (22) and Eswatini (27).<\/p>\n\n\n\n
