From Crushed Stone to Steelmaking Slag: Ukraine Tests EcoSteelAscon Technology

In the Kyiv region, for the first time in Ukraine, an innovative EcoSteelAscon technology has been applied on a pilot section of the Zalisia–Zavorichi road.

This technology replaces natural crushed stone with steelmaking slag, a byproduct of metallurgical production, which has been successfully used in the Republic of Korea for more than ten years, proving its effectiveness in road construction.

EcoSteelAscon technology offers a number of significant advantages. In particular, it provides enhanced strength and durability of the road surface, reduces construction costs, and lowers noise and dust levels. Moreover, the use of this technology contributes to reducing carbon emissions and mitigating the negative environmental impact.

The 750-meter pilot section was constructed with funding from Korean partners.
