The Cabinet of Ministers Allocated Funds to Finance Railway Passenger Transportation in 2026

By Resolution No. 196-р dated 2 March 2026, the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine allocated UAH 16 billion from the state budget reserve fund to the Ministry for Development of Communities and Territories of Ukraine to finance the 2026 state order for the provision of domestic railway passenger transportation services.

From the Association. As is well known, for many years passenger transportation in Ukraine has been financed through revenues generated from freight transportation. As a result, JSC “Ukrzaliznytsia” has consistently raised the issue of increasing tariffs for railway freight transportation.

Will this Government decision serve as a safeguard against increasing railway freight tariffs this year?
