The Association is working on amendments to the technical specifications for rubble stone

Why has this issue arisen?

1. Paragraph two of Part One of Article 22 of the Law of Ukraine “On Standardization” stipulates that national standards must be reviewed at least once every five years from the date of their adoption.
2. In accordance with Clause 7.1 of DSTU–N 1.3:2015 “National Standardization. Technical Specifications of Ukraine. Guidelines for Development”, technical specifications must be reviewed at least once every five years from the date they enter into force. If amendments have been introduced, the review must be conducted at least once every five years from the date of adoption of the latest amendment (the latest Amendment No. 2 to TU U V.2.7-14.1-33885138-003:2009 “Rubble Stone. Technical Specifications” was adopted in May 2021).
3. The State Enterprise “Ukrainian Research and Training Center for Standardization, Certification and Quality”, which performs the functions of the national standardization body in accordance with the распордження of the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine No. 1163-r dated November 26, 2014, by Orders No. 166, 167, 195, 202, 234, 238, 241 dated August 29, 2025, repealed, effective January 1, 2026, the national standards referenced in TU U V.2.7-14.1-33885138-003:2009 “Rubble Stone. Technical Specifications” (as amended by Amendments No. 1 and No. 2).

In addition, Part Four of Article 17 of the Law of Ukraine “On Standardization” provides that when a European standard is adopted as a national standard, the national standard must be identical to the corresponding European standard. From the date such a national standard enters into force, any conflicting national standards must be repealed.

All of the above, as well as the introduction of new European standards in Ukraine (for example, DSTU EN 12371:2022 “Natural stone test methods. Determination of frost resistance” /EN 12371:2010, IDT/), has necessitated the development of Amendment No. 3 to TU U V.2.7-14.1-33885138-003:2009 “Rubble Stone. Technical Specifications” (as amended by Amendments No. 1 and No. 2).

Given the significant number of changes in regulatory and technical documents, Amendment No. 3 will involve restating the technical specifications in a new edition, particularly in sections such as “Scope”, “Normative References”, “Technical Requirements”, and “Methods of Control”.
