The Cabinet of Ministers Adopted Decisions to Stabilize the Situation in the Energy System

At its meeting on 9 December 2025, the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine adopted a number of decisions aimed at improving the stability of electricity supply for citizens.

In particular, regional state administrations (military administrations) must, within two days, review the actual lists of critical infrastructure facilities with the purpose of reducing them. The electricity volumes freed as a result will be redirected to household consumers.

The Ministry of Energy, the Ministry for Communities and Territories Development, the State Energy Supervision Inspectorate, and regional state administrations (military administrations) must urgently ensure the full operation of distributed generation facilities – gas-piston and gas-turbine units, including cogeneration, diesel, gasoline, and gas generators.

Regional state administrations (military administrations), local self-government bodies, and relevant municipal enterprises must ensure the reduction of non-essential energy consumption.
