The round table “Subsoil use in Ukraine: actual development issues”

On April 04, 2025, the Ukrainian Chamber of Commerce and Industry hosted a roundtable discussion “Subsoil Use in Ukraine: Current Development Issues”, which was attended by Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada Committee on Environmental Policy and Nature Management O.V. Bondarenko. Bondarenko, Deputy Minister of Environmental Protection and Natural Resources of Ukraine O.S. Semenets, Head of the State Service of Geology and Subsoil of Ukraine O.S. Hotsynets, Acting Director General of the State Research and Production Enterprise “Geoinform of Ukraine” P.V. Bovsunivskyi, representatives of business associations and leading subsoil users, industry experts.

Some of the key issues discussed were the provision of subsoil areas with deposits of critical and strategic minerals for use, the resumption of state supervision (control) measures under martial law, as well as the digitalization of services and geological information.

The participants of the event also paid attention to the development of the subsoil use industry, ways to resolve access to land plots, processing of raw materials in Ukraine, attracting investors, and regulatory changes to simplify doing business in the subsoil use sector.
