The term of martial law in Ukraine has been extended once again

The President of Ukraine, by Decree No. 342/2026 dated April 27, 2026, has extended the term of martial law in Ukraine starting from May 4, 2026, for a period of 90 days (until August 1, 2026, inclusive). The President also submitted to the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine a draft Law “On Approval of the Decree of the President of Ukraine ‘On Extension of the Term of Martial Law in Ukraine’” (reg. No. 15197 dated April 27, 2026).

At its plenary session on April 28, 2026, the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine adopted this draft law in full.

The Association reminds that in Ukraine martial law was initially introduced by Presidential Decree No. 64/2022 dated February 24, 2022, for a period of 30 days, and since then has already been extended 18 times.
