The Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine Commenced the 16th Session of the Ninth Convocation

On 1 September 2026, the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine commenced the 16th Session of the Ninth Convocation, which will continue until February 2027.

On the same day, the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine adopted the draft Resolution “On the Agenda of the Sixteenth Session of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine of the Ninth Convocation”, submitted by Member of Parliament of Ukraine R.O. Stefanchuk (Reg. No. 15589 dated 1 September 2026).

The vote on the draft Resolution was as follows: 244 Members of Parliament voted “for”, 0 “against”, 2 “abstained”, and 81 did not vote.

The Agenda consists of the following annexes:

• – Annex 1, “Agenda of the Sixteenth Session of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine of the Ninth Convocation”, which includes matters prepared for consideration at plenary meetings, as well as matters assigned for preparation and further revision for consideration during the session;
• – Annex 2, “List of Draft Laws that the Committees of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine Propose Not to Include in the Agenda of the Sixteenth Session of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine of the Ninth Convocation, and List of Resolutions Deemed to Have Lost Their Validity”;
• – Annex 3, “List of Draft Laws Included in the Agenda of the Fifteenth Session of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine of the Ninth Convocation in Respect of Which Requests for Their Withdrawal Have Been Received”;
• – Annex 4, “List of Additional Matters Proposed for Inclusion in the Agenda of the Sixteenth Session of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine of the Ninth Convocation, as Agreed by the Conciliation Board of Parliamentary Factions (Deputy Groups) of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine on 1 September 2026”.

The Association reminds that, pursuant to Article 83 of the Constitution of Ukraine, regular sessions of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine commence on the first Tuesday of February and the first Tuesday of September each year.
