UNIC – Ukrainian Network of Integrity and Compliance: How Businesses Can Build Trust and Reputation
The market for non-metallic construction materials in Ukraine is evolving under the influence of the war, global challenges, and the country’s European integration course. Alongside these changes, the rules of the game are also transforming: outdated DSTU standards are gradually being replaced by harmonized European standards, while expectations regarding business transparency and ethical conduct continue to grow.
Today, not only international partners but also Ukrainian customers have become more attentive. Increasingly, they evaluate not only product quality, pricing, or logistics, but also how openly, honestly, and responsibly a company operates in compliance with applicable regulations.
Under such conditions, trust is no longer merely a matter of “image” – it has become a genuine competitive advantage.
But what does this mean in practice for non-metallic enterprises? How can companies improve their business reputation not formally, but systematically? Where should they begin, and how can they understand whether they are moving in the right direction?
In Ukraine, there is already an environment capable of providing answers to these questions – the Ukrainian Network of Integrity and Compliance (UNIC).
UNIC is a collective action initiative established to promote ethical and responsible business conduct, as well as the implementation of anti-corruption and compliance practices.
UNIC is more than just a network – it is a platform for:
- exchanging experience, practical solutions, and expertise;
- implementing anti-corruption and compliance practices;
- building transparent relations with government authorities without “informal arrangements”;
- participating in the development of clear and understandable market rules.
The network brings together companies from various industries that seek not only to comply with standards, but also to develop responsible and ethical business practices.
Among the members of our Association, there is a company that is part of UNIC and was among the businesses that supported the establishment of the network back in 2017 – Klesiv aggregates quarry “Technobud”.
UNIC actively cooperates with representatives of leading international and national organizations and institutions that contribute to the development of the Ukrainian economy, including the EU Anti-Corruption Initiative, United Nations Development Programme, Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development, and the Business Ombudsman Council, as well as with Ukrainian public authorities.
A separate focus area of UNIC’s activities is educational initiatives implemented through UNIC Academy – a platform offering both open educational programs and customized corporate training tailored to the needs of companies, their industries, and the maturity level of their compliance systems.
Join UNIC:
- a collective action initiative and a community of practitioners in various compliance fields, where participants exchange experience, discuss challenges, and jointly develop solutions to counter unethical business practices;
- a union of proactive businesses that fosters constructive dialogue with public authorities and contributes to improving Ukraine’s business environment;
- an organization that listens to its members, addresses their real challenges, and applies an individual approach in cooperation.
Let us work together to build a new business culture — a culture of integrity that earns trust.
