Martial Law in Ukraine Extended for Another 90 Day

By Decree No. 596/2026 of 13 July 2026, the President of Ukraine extended martial law in Ukraine for a further 90 days, from 2 August 2026 until 31 October 2026 (inclusive). The President also submitted to the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine the Draft Law “On the Approval of the Decree of the President of Ukraine ‘On the Extension of Martial Law in Ukraine'” (Registration No. 15401 of 13 July 2026).

At its plenary session on 14 July 2026, the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine adopted the draft law in its entirety. The voting results were: 313 votes in favour, 2 against, 0 abstentions, and 21 members did not vote.

The Association reminds that martial law in Ukraine was initially introduced by Presidential Decree No. 64/2022 of 24 February 2022 for a period of 30 days and has since been extended 19 times.
