The Association Received a Response from the State Statistics Service of Ukraine

In previous years, the State Statistics Service of Ukraine (Derzhstat) published monthly data on its official website regarding the foreign trade of individual commodity groups by country (exports and imports), both in physical quantities and in monetary terms (thousand US dollars).

The Association used this information, specifically the data under UCGFEA (UKT FEA) code 2517100000, in its activities and regularly published it in the News section of its website.

However, following the launch of the new official statistics portal, stat.gov.ua, on 5 November 2025, this information has no longer been published under the Foreign Economic Activity section.

The Association therefore submitted an official request to the State Statistics Service of Ukraine asking for clarification as to why the data on foreign trade in individual commodity groups by country (exports and imports) was no longer being published and when publication of these statistics would resume.

In its response, the State Statistics Service stated that:

“As of today, starting with the data for January–October 2025, the State Statistics Service has not been receiving from the State Customs Service, in accordance with the Agreement on the Exchange of Information Resources between the two agencies (hereinafter – the Agreement), the complete set of administrative customs declaration data. This makes it impossible to compile and disseminate foreign trade statistics for goods within the deadlines established by the official statistical work programme. The State Statistics Service is taking measures to restore the State Customs Service’s fulfilment of its obligations under the Agreement regarding the provision of the relevant administrative data; however, no specific timeframe can currently be provided.”

Association’s comment.

In other words, two central executive authorities have been unable to resolve a straightforward issue: the full exchange of administrative data in accordance with the Agreement on the Exchange of Information Resources.

Is the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine satisfied with such cooperation between its central executive authorities?
