On August 28, 2025, the Law of Ukraine of January 9, 2025, No. 4196-IX “On Specifics of Regulating the Activities of Legal Entities of Certain Organizational and Legal Forms during the Transitional Period and Associations of Legal Entities” enters into force. As a result, the Commercial Code of Ukraine will cease to be valid, and a three-year transitional period will be introduced for state, municipal, and private enterprises to adapt.

In order to raise public legal awareness and avoid potential questions in the future, the Ministry of Justice of Ukraine published on its official website (https://minjust.gov.ua/) in the News section on August 27 this year the information piece “The Moment of Abolishing the Commercial Code is Approaching: The Ministry of Justice Explains the Content of the Reform” regarding the legal implications of this Law entering into force.
